Dr. Francois Malassenet
Developer
Dr. Francois Malassenet, a developer at Primal Space Systems, has more than 25 years of experience in digital signal processing and software implementation. His research includes: data compression and encryption, model reduction statistical signal, including compressive sensing, and machine learning.
Dr. Malassenet previously served as the director of new product development and research at Troxler Electronics Laboratories, where he led the launch of several new non-destructive test instruments for the construction industry that integrate data fusion, embedded software, and data reporting to data centers. Most recently, Dr. Malassenet worked as a principal engineer at Vadum, Inc., where he developed and implemented encrypted data compression algorithms for real-time compression of heterogeneous telemetry and high-resolution video over noisy channels. He also was a faculty member at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served for five years as the director of Georgia Tech Lorraine, which is Georgia Institute of Technology’s European Campus.
Dr. Malassenet received his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Diplôme d’Ingénieur from Supélec, France. He has been awarded six U.S. patents.
